Our main goal is to help indigenous rural communities to educate themselves and those who come into contact with them about the importance of their natural environment, the major source of their livelihood.

For food and medicine, culture and tradition, social structure and justice, indigenous peoples have depended heavily on the wildlife and elements of their natural environment.

African POWER raises money and collects technology and tools to record, archive and produce educational media about this natural environment and the traditions and culture that helps enforce their protection.

We collect digital cameras, video and voice recorders, computer and other multimedia technology to record and produce educational materials for print, broadcast and other new media in local languages.

Because of our experience shipping small quantities of donations with friends and NGO workers travelling to areas we work in, we advise that you call or email us to discuss donations of equipment to ensure that any technology you donate can be shipped cost effectively.

We operate Village Stores in northern Uganda to help communities recovering from years of war. Necessities such as sports equipments and gear, medical devices, Tents, gardening tools and others are stored close to the communities from where they can borrow what they need for short periods.

We try to buy goods and services as close as possible to the communities we work in. Local carpenters, blacksmiths and craftsmen are some of the skills persons we pay to produce most of the items stocked in these Village Stores.
